Why Certified Organic Lipstick Is Only Choice For You?

If there is one skin care product that must be organic, I think it should be what you put on your lips because you end up eat it, drink it and kiss it off.

It’s widely recognized lead poisoning poses a threat to our health. Lead is very toxic metal that has negative effect on nervous system, renal and cardiovascular diseases, it is even fatal on high dose consumption. FDA has kept lowering the legal limit of lead content in paint, children’s toys, and playground substrate since the late 70’s.

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics found that more than half of the 33 brand-name lipsticks tested (61%) contained detectable levels of lead.

Imagine if you apply lead-containing lipstick and lip gloss on your lips, they got into your mouth, and the ingredients were absorbed into your body, then into your bloodstream. While there is no safe level of lead exposure, lead builds up in the body over time.

Governments in the world do not yet have any regulations for lead in lipstick, but as a reference, FDA does allow level of lead in candy is 0.1 ppm. But some famous brands lipsticks have shown to have up to 6 times that amount.

Have you ever thought why those famous brands do not disclose to you their product ingredients, but those organic and natural cosmetics companies will?

Hence, switching to organic lipstick or lip gloss may be the only choice for you to keep away from lead exposure and all other toxic chemicals presented in the lipsticks nowadays. If you don’t know where and how to pick a safe lipstick, check at http://www.organiclipstick.blogspot.com/ for good organic lipstick choices.

So until the industry gets its act together, buyer should be careful when doing the lipstick shopping next time.

Synthetic Chemicals in Personal Care Products

According to Organic Monitor's recent study, it showed that 89% of people who bought natural personal care products aimed to avoid synthetic chemicals, while only 4% stated it was unimportant.
Health and ethical values were behind 71% of buyers' motivation to buy natural products. Parabens and sodium lauryl sulphate were among those synthetic chemicals that consumers were most cautious of. As the lack of regulation in labeling – many “natural”, or even “organic” personal care products still have a wide range of potentially harmful synethetic chemicals. The only guarantee of purity in products were those certified organic.
79% of consumers said they were willing to pay extra money for the certification.
